What I do
I work with adults using evidence-based approaches to help them overcome a range of psychological problems including depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment problems, sleep, relationship and work difficulties.
I also have a special interest in helping clients develop strategies to manage persistent/chronic pain, with many years' experience working in The Professor Tess Cramond Multidisciplinary Pain Centre at The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and The STAMPS pain management program at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital, Brisbane.
About Me
Enjoys working with adults in private practice, and in a private hospital.
Qualified at the University of Queensland, with practical experience in both public and private hospitals.
Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Registered provider with Medicare, Workcover Qld, Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA) and a number of private health funds.
Referral
You do not need to be referred by a medical practitioner, however a referral is needed from your GP or psychiatrist if you wish to claim a Medicare refund. If you are eligible, your GP may provide you with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) under The Better Access initative or a GP Management Plan (GPMP) under the Chronic Disease Management scheme.
An initial MHCP will entitle you to a rebate for up to 6 sessions. If further sessions are required, you will need to return to your GP to have your plan extended. You are entitled to a maximum of 10 psychology sessions per calendar year under this scheme.
Under the Chronic Disease Management scheme, you are entitled to a rebate for a maximum of 5 sessions per calendar year.
